Library

The Church Library, established in memory of Richard Sharp, is a wonderful resource of information and inspiration. Our prayer is that God will use this library to encourage your family to grow in the faith. We want it to be a resource for all members as they face the challenges and issues in life. Library materials are organized based on the Dewey Decimal System and the library offers a fully computerized card catalog and book search system. These features make it easy to find books on any given subject.

There is a helpful reference section with Bible encyclopedias, concordances, Bible versions, and commentaries by respected authors such as William Barclay. There are many personal Bible Study guides available such as Beth Moore’s studies for women, the “Be” Series by Warren Weirsbe, and Max Lucado’s studies. The library has an extensive audiocassette collection with titles from popular speakers like Kay Arthur, R.C. Sproul, and Joyce Meyer. We also have the entire unabridged Bible available on audiocassette or compact disc format. Christian Living titles make up a large section of our library addressing topics such as parenting, divorce, grief, and growing in prayer life. There is also a fiction section including work by C.S. Lewis, Jan Karon, and many other great Christian fiction writers.

The library is open during regular church office hours and on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. If you need help locating a book or would like help, please contact Church Librarian, Allison Lewis.

Policies and Procedures

Any member of a family that has a current Family Registration Card on file may check out resources. To check out a resource, simply fill out the notebook with the book title, your name, phone number and the date.

Please maintain the following guidelines:

Books:4 per member for 2 weeks

Audio Tapes/CDs:3 per family for 2 weeks

Video/DVDs: 3 per family for 1 week

Serving in the Library

If you have a heart for books, Christian education, or just service in general, we would love to have you come alongside us in ministry by volunteering in the Library. Opportunities for service include helping members check out resources, checking resources in and out, and shelving books. While the Library is busiest on Sunday mornings, there are plenty of things to do during the week. No library experience is necessary; training will be provided.

Library Donations Adopt-a-Book The Library Committee has compiled wish lists at www.amazon.com for both libraries.Each book you adopt will be labeled in memory or in honor of your loved one.What a loving gift that lasts a lifetime! Other new or used (in good condition) Christian books, CDs, DVDs, audio or video tapes may also be donated to the library.

All gifts not from our lists are subject to review and may not be used in the library.
