About Us

First Presbyterian Church joined the Evangelical Presbyterian denomination in February 2008.   Our mission is "To glorify and worship God by seeking and following His will through prayer, love, faithfulness, and witnessing; radiating from the individual, to the family,to the church, to the community, and to the world."

Dr. Don Elliott- Pastor
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  
Don Elliott has been Pastor at First Presbyterian Church, Corinth, since August, 1985.  His wife, Lynn, and he have three grown sons:  Andy, Marc and Chris.  Andy and Erin Elliott live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and they have two daughters, Caitlyn and Caroline.  Andy is an electrical engineer in communications.  Marc and Taylore Elliott live in Houston, Texas, where Marc is the administrator at an adolescent treatment center.  Chris and Batina Elliott live in Corinth and they have two sons, Cooper and Charlie.  Chris is a pharmacist at Gunn Drug Co.
 
Don grew up in Fayetteville, Georgia.  He has a B.A. from Belhaven College, Jackson, Mississippi; a M. Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi; and a D. Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California.  Don has served in previous pastorates in Monroeville, Alabama, and Menlo, Georgia.
 
For over 20 years Don was active in the renewal movement in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) primarily serving as President of Presbyterians Pro-Life.  He is now a pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He has written The JOURNEY: A Trip Through the Bible which has been published by PLC Publications in 2009. 
   

 
 Gregg Parker- Youth Pastor
His first loves are his wife Deb to whom he has been married for over 20 years who has trusted him with her blessings in ministry throughout their marriage (and longer) and who is his confidant, earthly joy and first ministry... one daughter Kara and 2 sons Jordan and Joel.
He has been involved with student ministry for 20years and at First Presbyterian Church for 11 of those years.
Youth House ministries heavily invests in relational ministry and gatherings tailored to meet the needs of students.   
 
 
  

 
Brett and Kimberly Grantham- Directors of Children's Ministry
 
 Three years ago the Grantham's were called to minister to the children of FPC.  They both have a background in education and have lived in Corinth seven years.  Brett is also the Director of the Corinth Sportsplex.  They have two sons, Brett, 18, and Cullen, 14.  This ministry has been a tremendous blessing as an opportunity to serve the Lord, work together as a couple, and have a lot of fun!  It is very rewarding to see the children within our ministry grow in their faith. 
 
  

 
Connie Doles – Church Secretary
Connie has just finished her 27th year of serving First Presbyterian as church secretary.  She and her husband, Gary, have one son, Kaylon.  Connie graduated from Kossuth High School and Northeast Community College.  She collects dolls and angels, and enjoys reading and music.
 
 
 
 
 

 
Rebecca (Becky) Stewart- Church Secretary 
Becky joined the First Presbyterian Church staff as a part time secretary in November, 1993. She has enjoyed serving the Lord alongside all members of the staff and says she steadily is growing spiritually because of their influence and encouragement. Becky and her husband David have been members of FPC since 1978 and have raised their two children in the church. Their son, Doug, a caterer and his wife, Tracey, a nurse live in Tupelo and have two sons. Their daughter, Molly, lives in Eugene, Oregon, and is a veterinarian. Becky’s most satisfying accomplishments are constantly learning to love the Lord, having a happy marriage with David, raising two children, enjoying them as “grown-ups” and playing with her two grandsons. Her hobbies are reading, gardening and all kinds of needlework.
  

 
Edi Williams- Dayschool Director
Edi Williams and her husband, Ken, have been members of First Presbyterian Church for 14 years. They have four daughters, Elizabeth, 13, Rebekah, 11, Emma, 7, and Rachel, 2.  In 2006, Edi joined the staff as Day School director. She also teaches a two-year-old class.  In her spare time Edi enjoys playing tennis. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  

 
Jan Pike – Interim Director, Sanctuary Choir
A native of Booneville and a long-time employee of Quebecor World, Jan first came to the FPC Choir more than twenty years ago by way of Dr. Eugene Doran and Krossroads Kollection. During the years she has served twice as interim choir director—once during 1995 and again from August 2006 to the present.
Her musical interests vary from classical, to musical theater, to bluegrass, as she has twice been a soloist with the Corinth Symphony and has appeared in over thirty productions with Corinth Theatre-Arts. Currently, she enjoys singing and playing the mountain dulcimer each week with the Magnolia Dulcimer Club and Heartland Bluegrass Band along with her husband, Doug, who plays upright bass.
 

 
Corinne Pierce- Volunteer Receptionist
Corinne came to work at First Presbyterian Church as a volunteer in December 2004.  She helps in the church office five days a week answering the telephone and doing various office tasks.  She graduated from Mississippi University for Women and taught school at the Junior High level in Laurel, Mississippi and Denver, Colorado and has served as a housewife, mother, gardener, and volunteer tennis coach. Corinne is the widow of Benjamin Pierce, Sr. and has two children, Ben Pierce, Jr. and Mary Pierce Jones.  Ben is a minister now planting a church in San Carlos, California, and Mary is a housewife in Memphis, Tennessee.  She has six grandchildren, Corinne, Annie and Benjie Pierce, and Kendall, Hannah and Pierce Jones.
  
 
 

 
 
 
Cathy Byars- Organist
 
Cathy has lived in Corinth all her life and took piano from Dene Pace, who was a member of FPC. She felt that she grew up here, as she had recitals twice a year in the Fellowship Hall, and she feels comfortable here.  Her degree is a BS in Education from UNA and MM in Music Theory from Ole Miss. She is currentlyy a nurse at Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Her position is the Nurse Educator for the Critical, Cardiology and Diabetes areas.  She has a son ,Thomas, who will be attending Ole Miss in the fall studying Psychology. 
 
 
 
 

 
 Domenick and Paula Sarallo
 
Domenick and Paula joined the FPC staff in May of 2008. They have been members of the church for the past twelve years. Paula is originally from Corinth and Domenick is from Chicago. They have four children Batina Elliott, Danielle Ganus, Morgan Sarallo, and DJ Sarallo. They have one grandchild Cooper Elliott who is 2. They serve as the Directors of Facility, which includes hospitality and maintenance. One thing they enjoy most about this church is the fellowship.
